This course intends to combine traditional Indian Yoga with Chinese Daoist Yoga concepts and practices. Having complementary characteristics, these two yogic methods have the potential to form an integrated Tai Chi continuum.

Participants are going to benefic from the Yin aspect of Yoga Practice, which focuses on the connective tissues and the Yang qualities of Yoga practice with its emphasis on the muscles. Both methods are inseparable, and they complement each other, like the moon and the sun!

The Daoist methods will manipulate the acupuncture meridians, and will involve the opening up and an energizing enhancement of the body. Many of the exercises in this category will involve standing up routines that will optimize body alignment and balance. These are very important concepts in Tai Chi, Chi Qong and other Nei Jia - Chinese Martial arts - because they are very relaxing and calming. These sets of exercises include the "Eight Brocades", and we are going to learn how to reconnect our body to the earth energy and we are going to rediscover our natural roots.

My own clinical experience with patients showed me that many people live mostly in the upper levels of existence-thoughts and emotions-with little or no connectedness to their bodies. Missing this vital link with our planet and themselves, these people feel disconnected, anxious, restless, and devitalized like uprooted trees. It is the intention and the objective of this course to facilitate the mind-body, sky-earth reconnection.
