The eighteen forms of this set of Chinese health exercises are easy to follow. They are great for relaxation and stress management. Shibashi Qi-Gong, sometimes also called Tai Chi Chi Kung (Taiji Qi-Gong), incorporates many of the Tai Chi principles. The exercise consists of slow, graceful circular movements, integrated with the mind through conscious breathing and guided imagery.

It is an exercise that demands no physical strength to begin with; it is good for the weak as for the strong, for the young and old men and women. It is a way to offer release from conflict and anxiety. It is an excellent set of exercise in its own right, but it is also good preparation for Tai Chi Ch’uan.
