Shu-Chuan (Susan) Wang is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist with the State of California. A native of Taiwan, Susan enrolled in the San Francisco College of Acupuncture and Oriental medicine in 1990. A year later, she transferred to American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and subsequently earned an M.S. in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1995.

Non-stop studying earned Susan a Fellowship from the American Institute of Acupuncture Orthopedics & Traumatology and a Ph.D. in Oriental Medicine Research from American Global University in 2000. She obtained her O.M.D. from South Baylo University in 2006. She has been practicing in San Francisco for more than ten years.

Besides acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Dr. Wang is very knowledgeable in Natural Healing and emphasizes integrative treatment involving Mind, Body, Spirit, Environment and Diet. Susan not only likes to help her patients root out the causes of their illness, but also educates them about self-care at home. She herself has been practicing different kinds of Qi-Gong, Tai-Chi, Yoga, Zen and mindfulness meditation since 1988. She has also dedicated herself to the daily practice of compassion and wisdom.

Using acupuncture and Chinese herbs, complemented by natural healing methods, Dr. Wang has effectively treated acute and chronic pain, neuro-muscular injury, women's health problems such as PMS and menopausal syndrome, digestive disorders, post stroke, and side effects from cancer therapies in her practice. In addition, she treats flu, allergy, skin problems, stress, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Susan also works on weight management, body tune-up, immunity and energy enhancement.

For those patients who are afraid of acupuncturing, Dr. Wang uses only small needles with a very gentle technique. Patients hardly feel anything. To help patients recover faster, she applies auricular acupuncture to regulate patients’ internal organ function, not just treating their manifestation. She also combines local, distant and Tai Ji techniques to treat patients. This allows them to adopt acupuncture treatment comfortably. With compassion and a calm disposition, Susan knows how to calm those patients who are depressed or worried and guides them into relaxation during treatment.

Dr. Wang is very active in the professional organizations of acupuncturists both in Sacramento and in the Bay Area.
